EMDR INTENSIVES

One of the quickest and most effective ways to overcome our struggles and reduce/eliminate symptoms is through EMDR Intensive Therapy. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR helps us process negative feelings and change the way we think about ourselves and our memories. Because of the powerful healing effect of EMDR therapy, Intensives can produce faster results weekly sessions using standard talk-therapy techniques. EMDR Intensives can help clients to process more information and heal quicker.

Based on a growing demand for a condensed and focused time of counseling, the intensive therapy approach to psychotherapy came from the idea that concentrated periods of well-paced, attuned, and skillful psychotherapeutic treatment over a brief period of time can give efficient, effective relief to those who are emotionally suffering and who are ready to do the work to bring resolution to the pain points.

An intensive is a dedicated period of time – anywhere from 3 hours to a full day to multiple days in one a row – where goals are predetermined in the initial consult and the therapeutic work is highly focused on working toward resolving the presenting issues and meeting goals.

An intensive psychotherapeutic commitment can help you feel less distress around traumatic or adverse events, shift long held beliefs that are no longer true, or help you approach life and relationships in a way that is more aligned with your heart’s desire.

** Intensives aren’t for everyone. Sometimes slower is faster. We must respect your entire system: mind, body, and spirit. The goal is to follow your natural healing process that brings about transformation. Together we will determine what is your best treatment approach during the free initial consultation appointment.**

Intensives may be a good alternative approach for you if you:

  • Live busy lifestyles and have limited time for themselves.
  • Believe therapy would be beneficial and don’t want to go week after week, month after month.
  • Have tried traditional talk therapy and didn’t experience the gains they had hoped for.
  • Are stable and happy in many parts of their lives, but have one specific area in which they feel stuck.
  • Live in areas where integrative, trauma therapists are not available.
  • Prefer a more straightforward approach to addressing traumatic memories by staying more purposefully connected to the process as opposed to re-opening and re-engaging the process with weekly appointments.

This alternative approach to psychotherapy is intentionally time-focused, depth-oriented, and goal-driven.

Psychotherapy intensives offer a unique opportunity to focus on you, your healing, and your journey. While the work goes to the root of the situation and can feel “intense”, the work can also bring laughter, insight, a sense of freedom, a cause for celebration, a restored sense of personal empowerment and trust in your inner wisdom. Are you ready to powerfully address a particular problem and begin the rewarding journey toward creating long-lasting, life-affirming changes?
