Keri Wanner

Hello!  My name is Keri Wanner and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and CEO of Harmonia Wellness.  I graduated from Loyola University Maryland in 2017 with a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology.  Shortly after, I became involved with sexual assault victim advocacy and served as a victim advocate as well as Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) for the United States military.  I am proud to call myself an Airman, as I have served in all components of the United States Air Force as Security Forces (military police).  I am currently serving in the Air Force Reserves as a First Sergeant.  I have been deployed to Iraq and an undisclosed location in South West Asia.  I also served as a volunteer EMT back home for several years.

It is so important to me to be able to help others in this life.  My wish is that others are able to live their best lives, in complete harmony with themselves and their environment.  It is my goal to help as many individuals who suffer from mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, anger management issues, grief, substance abuse, and PTSD be able to live a full and healthy life

Being able to provide therapy to individuals and seeing them heal has been the most humbling and rewarding experience.  No one deserves to live their lives feeling out of control, depressed, anxious, grief stricken, angry, on edge, full of guilt and shame, etc.  I want to see you happy, living your best life, stress and worry-free.  If you are ready for a change, Harmonia Wellness may be your solution.

While I provide therapy for all adults, I do specialize in military and first responder populations.  Choosing to work with military and first responders came naturally as my experiences in life have led me down this path.  We are an under-represented population and often misunderstood, especially when it comes to our mental health.  With the recent world events, the mental health of our first responders should be a top priority.  Unfortunately, due to these events, first responders are being attacked, humiliated, and often shunned.  It is my belief, that working with someone who has had similar experiences, a “been there, done that” situation, allows for a unique therapeutic alliance.  I am fortunate to be able to provide compassion and understanding in this work, as I focus on a population that will forever be near and dear to my heart.

The modalities that I use the most are EMDR and ego-states.  I work with adults who suffer from the following:

  • Trauma
  • Complex Trauma
  • PTSD
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Self-Esteem Issues
  • Anger Management
  • Substance Abuse

Roxy Maza

Hi! My name is Roxana Maza (She/Her/Hers), but everyone calls me Roxy. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).  I graduated from Florida International University with my Master of Science in Counselor Education.

As a child – and this might resonate with some – I was often told by adults that I was “mature for my age” or “acted and spoke wise beyond my years.” At some point in high school, it “clicked” that the reason I had matured so quickly was because I was dealing with challenging family situations. I had taken on the role to be the “pillar” or “glue” that tried to keep it together. With time, I realized that by trying to be the fixer, I was instead creating more anxiety and prolonging my emotional pain. That took me years to realize.

I did not know how to deal with the feelings, how to heal from the pain, how to move forward, and how to let go.

Does this speak to you, or a part within you?

Honestly, starting therapy can be scary. It is not easy to be open, honest – vulnerable – with a total stranger sitting across from you or on a computer screen. It is a huge step to look for and ask for help. For this reason, I view my therapeutic relationship with clients as the most important factor and vehicle for change in therapy.

As a therapist, my view is that you – the client – are the expert of your own life and my role is to work alongside you to help you discover those answers you are searching for.

In our time together, we will thoroughly explore your concerns that brought you to therapy, create a treatment plan tailored to you and your needs, and work collaboratively to reach your goals each time we meet. My style is adaptable and flexible with each client: Some may like more structured sessions, some less directive – Therapy is your time, your space to be the most you.

In my work, I use an integrative approach to meet my client’s needs. Theoretically, I work from a humanistic, person-centered lens utilizing techniques from: Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Pop Culture/Geek Therapy techniques (anime/manga, video games), Mindfulness, and creative/expressive techniques such as art and music.

I specialize in the following with tweens, teens, and millennial populations:

· Self-Esteem Issues

· Body Image Concerns

· Anxiety

· Depression

· Trauma

· Highly Sensitive Persons (HSP)

· Life Transitions

Harmonia

Harmonia

HARMONIA was the goddess of harmony and concord.  Late Greek and Roman writers sometimes portrayed her as harmony in a more abstract sense--a deity who presided over cosmic balance.
